This third overview of the city of Paramaribo from the clock tower of the Ministry of Finance building gives you a good view of the Independence Square (Onafhankelijkheidsplein) and some of the historic colonial architecture in the surrounding area . You can see the Presidential Palace on the left and the Parliament Building (the National Assembly) across the square. Parts of the city were added to the Unesco World Heritage List in 2002. Across the Suriname river you can see the district of Commewijne. Don’t forget to zoom in on the J.A. Wijdenbosch bridge in the distance, which connects Paramaribo to the district of Commewijne.
