It’s high tide on the Suriname river as you stand here on the Marinetrap (Navy Stairway), one of the main piers at the Waterfront in Paramaribo, on a late afternoon. The Marinetrap is located close to the Independence Square and it’s where official government/navy boats dock. It’s also where the boats with immigrants used to dock in Paramaribo in the past. Many people come to this location in the afternoon to relax and enjoy the sunset over the Suriname river.
